Uila uObserve extends VDI monitoring capabilities to natively analyze PCoIP traffic for thin-clients

Santa Clara, California- (August 12 ,2024)- Uila Inc., the Application-centric Observability company, today announced that its Observability Platform, uObserve, has extended its VDI monitoring and troubleshooting capability, to natively analyze PCoIP traffic to provide deeper VDI visibility and effective troubleshooting for communication between thin-client solutions and the rest of the VDI infrastructure.

PCoIP is a remote display protocol developed by Teradici (support for HP Anywhere, Leostream, etc.), that allows users to securely access virtual desktops, applications, and physical workstations over a network. Uila users now have deeper PCoIP traffic visibility between the thin-client and the VDI infrastructure in the Data Center, including critical statistics such as, session duration, round-trip time, packet transfer, and packet losses. With this new capability, users can identify scenarios of higher latencies that can affect user experience, making the remote desktop feel sluggish, as well as optimize their VDI environment for applications with different bandwidth needs.

“Monitoring network performance and PCoIP session statistics can help identify and resolve issues related to bandwidth, latency, and packet losses for VDI deployments. Not only does the user have control over the thin-client to VDI infrastructure performance, but can now combine that with Uila’s application performance monitoring, dependency mapping, virtual/physical network monitoring, VDI logging and user session performance for the VDI infrastructure in the Data Center, to get 360-degree observability for mission-critical VDI deployments.“ says Chia-Chee Kuan, CEO and Founder for Uila.

With Uila’s uObserve’s VDI monitoring and troubleshooting capabilities, users can:

  • Use automated discovery of VDI Components (end-to-end from user clients to virtual desktops to backend application and connection servers) and all interdependencies.
  • Monitor application performance and perform rapid root-cause analysis and reduce MTTR from days to minutes.
  • Visualize user session data for your entire VDI deployment.
  • Leverage Intelligent NVIDIA GPU metrics using the NVIDIA System Management Interface (NVSMI), to provide the maximized performance for GPU-enabled virtual desktops.
  • Measure time for every stage in the logon process like broker duration, agent duration, app launch duration, etc. and isolate issues leading to failed or slow logons.
  • Streamline troubleshooting and reduce MTTR with remediation actions across the infrastructure, including VDI. Intelligent Alert-based triggers and Manual triggers provide complete control in proactively preventing issues as well as streamlining problem resolution.
